About

My Head

I am a writer, editor and content strategist specializing in technology and software development, with occasional detours into motorsport and DIY culture.

I currently write the monthly Toolbox column at Visual Studio Magazine. Other recent experience includes:

  • Senior Technical Writer at ESPN working on a number of Data & Platform Architecture projects, including next-generation improvements to the (now sadly closed to the public) ESPN API.
  • Director of Content Development at CodeProject.com. Among other projects I curated the Daily Insider, Mobile Development and Web Development newsletters and started our A Coder Interview With… series of developer profiles and the CodeProject Advisory Board for Women in Technology.
  • Senior Editor and Technical Editor at Microsoft for 13 years, where I worked on developer education through MSJ, MSDN Magazine and TechNET Magazine, as well as end user and developer SDK documentation for Windows and the Windows Media platform.

My writing appears in various print and online periodicals including Application Development Trends, Redmond Magazine and O’Reilly.

On the side, I write a (too-rarely updated) blog about cars, car culture and motorsport at The Sportwagon.
